Although the Juvenile Court is not a criminal court for adults, there are circumstances where an investigation related to a juvenile proceeding can result in criminal charges against the parents or guardians of the child. In a neglect case, termination of parental rights petition, and other juvenile matters, parents as well as the child are entitled to a lawyer. Thus, we reccommend speaking to an experienced attorney when involved in any juvenile legal proceedings.
